Mb Trading FOREX: Account temporarily unavailable

Postby epirate » 06 Feb 2013

Hi!
After "Forex: Rollover completed, trading resumed." I can't get market orders executed until I reboot/relogin Multicharts.
Without rebooting Multicharts starts sending market orders, but got the message like:
"m/dd/yyyy h:mm:ss PM","Error","AUD/USD","MB Trading","xxx","Instrument: AUD/USD; Order: Buy Market 10000; Status: Rejected; Reason: Account temporarily unavailable.

Will you help me, please?

Same problem here.
There seams to be an access violation in the background. Sometimes you will see this error when closing MC.

The situation gets better (but problem still there) when you change the session time in QM and exclude the forex rollover time.

I use unattended auto trading 24h a day. Last 2 weeks I had 3 crashs like this, so strategies were left with open positions which could not be closed. Too bad.

@MC-team: any update on this issue or a better workaround? I was in contact with the support team last year and was told that it is an access violation in the MBT dll and therefore is out of your control. But the official MBT Trading Software does not crash ;-)

Is it a good idea to use a datafeed from the other provider insead of MBT? A hypothesis is that there will be a limited access to the MBT dll.

Status: Rejected; Reason: Account temporarily unavailable.
This issue has been confirmed and is being fixed by MBTrading.
There is a lot of work to be done on MBT side in order to get the problem resolved so it can take them up to a week.

This issue has been a constant.. along with multiple data disconnects a week. It's better than IB though..

IB reboots its servers every day. There is no escape; it has nothing to do with the internet connection or MultiCharts.

I'm getting the error "Invalid Route" when trying to send forex orders to MB Trading via MC. Is this associated with the above issue? The routing auto populates as MBTR, is that the correct route for the Free EXN?

The routing options to be used are account specific. Please contact MBT directly to check what route should be selected for each of your accounts.

Dear users,

Does this "Account temporarily unavailable" issue happen only on demo accounts? Are your production accounts not affected?
Can anyone who does not have such problem with production account PM or email me his MBT account name? This information is requested by MBT for further work on the problem.

TradingServer.exe is accessed by the CPU every time that an error is entered into the log...

ie: While watching the logs tab, keep an eye on the tradingserver.exe in taskmanager and you will see CPU activity as another entry populates the log file...

Re: Mb Trading FOREX: Account temporarily unavailable

Postby t-rader » 09 Mar 2013

Got this problem again on 3/08/2013 at 6:00:06 AM.

This time I was running 2 workspaces connected to the same symbol both running the same system except the signal on workspace 1 is coded to keep trying until the trade is accepted. I did this as a test. On workspace 1 the system was set to take a trade size of 1k and is connected to Account 1 and on workspace 2 the system was set to take a trade size of 200k and connected to Account 2. These are sub accounts under my main account with MBT.

The 200k trade was rejected and never tried again (as per design) while the 1k trade kept trying every tick and kept getting rejected and was finally accepted and filled 4 mins 21 seconds later. In the logs I can see 2 main errors stating:

- Instrument: EUR/USD; Order: Sell Market 200000; Status: Rejected; Reason: Account temporarily unavailable.
- Instrument: EUR/USD; Order: Sell Market 1000; Status: Rejected; Reason: The order cannot be placed because the broker is trying to establish connection to its servers.

My server setup and versions are:

- Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit
- Multicharts 64 bit 8.0 (Build 5622)
- MBT Desktop Pro 2.1.0.59

This is very risky trading if orders keep getting rejected and this needs to be a high priority.

Henry you said the problem was at MBT's end and would take up to a week to be fixed yet still the problem is happening more than 4 weeks later.

Henry or someone at Multicharts please provide the name and contact details of who are you dealing with on this problem at MBT?

Also can we please get an update on what's happening with this issue?

I haven't had this issue since I upgraded to:

the MB release candidate Version 2.2.0.32 Updated: 2/15/2013

and MC 64bit release Version: 8.5.6778

Also, make sure to restart Multicharts every day just after 5pm EST. Everything goes bonkers in Multicharts running MB accounts if this isn't done. (possibly something to look at MC?? It'd be nice if we didn't have to do this.)

MAtricks...can you check your version of Desktop Pro in the Help-About menu. I would be interested in knowing if it reads .32. I downloaded and installed that same version but it's not .32.

I've got the newest versions of both and am still getting rejected orders with
"account temporarily unavailable." I wasn't home yesterday to restart the program and
consequently missed some profitable trades.

That's right... Don't auto trade unattended.

Even the big trading/investment houses do not autotrade unattended, and they have professional programmers and fault-tolerant computers and redundant internet, remote cellphone alert, remote wake up, and artificial intelligent strategies. Most retail traders do not have the technology or know-how to do it properly.

We have not received the information required for analysis from you. MBT is no longer able to replicate the problem on their end and requires logs provided from the problem PCs in order to trace the issue.

!!!UPDATE!!!
In order to trace this behavior MBT suggests to increase the MBT logging level.
Start / Programs / MB Desktop Pro / MB Messages / Click File - Settings, Under Log select Debug.

It is suggested to make this change closer to the 5PM EST server maintenance, and if the issue is repliacted - send me the logs.
If the issue is not replicated then it is suggested to change the Log level back to Information. If it's left on Debug the log files can become huge.

Here is what we need from every user with the problem:
1) What exact version and build number of MultiCharts are you running? (in MultiCharts go to Help tab-> About)
2) What is the version of MBT application you are running ?
3) MultiCharts logs (if you have not restarted the platform ater the issue appeared. Logs from the previous run are erased when you start MC).
In MultiCharts 8.0 Release Candidate go to Help->Feedback->Send logs. Please let me know that you have uploaded the logs.
If your MC version is lower than MC 8.0 Release Candidate please follow this guide: https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... harts_Logs
4) In MultiCharts go to File->New->Open Order and position tracker window-> Logs tab->make sure you are not filtering the information in columns, then go to File->Export to excel.
5) MBT logs from Start->Run-> %userprofile%\AppData\roaming\MBTrading\LOGS\

Send me this information to support@multicharts.com or come to our live chat Monday-Friday 6:30 am - 4 pm EST to demonstrate the issue remotely. The operator will collect all required for analysis information.

I have sent in all the required information. It isn't difficult for me to reproduce this issue: it happens during 24 hours of automated trading and occurs mostly on the next day after forex rollover.

I hope this issue gets solved soon. Automated trading is not possible for me since weeks.

How big is 'huge'? Its a little hard for me to make this change off and on but I can make the change and leave it going.

Glad others have sent in this required information though so hopefully thats enough to get this resolved soon.

Don't know if it's representative, but for 12 hours trading 5 symbols the log grew up to 8 MB. I think that's not much but could be more in other constellations.

Hi Henry,

Any updates on this? We can see someone has sent in all the required information?

I've just had it happen again although the error is slightly different stating 'Account not loaded.'

Rang MBT and they've confirmed theres nothing wrong with my account. I tried to login to the mbt desktop pro client and it brings up the login box I enter my details hit enter and then it just disappears.

I recently updated MBT Desktop Pro version from 2.1.0.59 to 2.2.0.32 so maybe thats why the error has changed.

Disconnected all my workspaces and disconnected the broker profile. Reconnected the broker profile and executed a manual trade fine without error. I think I should have tried this before disconnecting the broker profile...

Cheers,

Account temporarily unavailable and Account not loaded are the same issues. They are not caused by a certain MBT desktop version. The issue is on the MBT servers.
All of the provided information has been forwarded to MBT Integration Department Manager and analyzed by MBT programmers. They have found the problem but they have not provided any ETA for the fix yet. MBT will let me know when an update is scheduled. I have already asked to make this case of the highest priority.

We are working towards a solution without an ETA, for a quick solution restart after either server maintenance that applies to the account (Forex after 5PM EST, Equities/Options/Futures after 12AM EST).

I updated Desktop MBT Pro, but after the rollover I tried to place a limit order and got the following error:
Instrument: AUD/USD; Order: Buy Limit N; Status: Rejected; Reason: Account X not loaded..
Thus, the issue has not been resolved yet.

The only problem is even if they fix this now it hasn't left me with much confidence in MBT when the next issue comes along and I have to wait months on months again for MBT.

In the meantime while MBT have been soo slow I've been proactive and I am now trading my systems on LMAX and running it side by side with MBT. I guess this is a good thing as I now have my risk spread and redundancy.

Maybe MBT's MC user base is soo small that they don't really care... Considering LMAX used to offer their own branded version of MC makes me feel a little more confident in them understanding their MC users.

t-trader,

I feel the same way you do. I've lost all confidence in MB for multiple reasons. It's sad because they provide some unique FX features. Good luck with LMAX, I've heard good things.

I've also kept LMAX in my watchlist for a long while. I'm convinced by their technology. And I'm planning to test them.

I trade with LMAX and MC for 8 month now (automated trading FX) and I am very pleased how they work well together.
Broker Connection is reliable. No missed Trade so far and more than 1000 Trades executed. LMAX has fast execution and their spread and commission structure is very competitive at least for major currency pairs. Micro Lots are possible too.
Normally you need 10000$ to open an account. If somebody is interested, I can introduce you as a customer, so you can open an account with a mimimum of 1000$. There is no disadvantage to it, nor any hidden costs. If there is interest, just send me a PM for further information.

MBT needs the username and/or account number for those who has experienced this issue from yesterday to today. You can PM it to me or send via email support@multicharts.com

They also ask for some statistics:
Does it happen daily? It shouldn't be daily since the last update on MBT end.
Do you experience this issue on demo or live accounts?

Has anyone sent Henry the required information?

I cannot send this information as I have been rebooting my server daily to avoid the issue. I'm trading live.

I've changed my broker. Using LMAX now. So far very pleased and no problems yet.

As a MC user, it seems we are not important enough for MB Trading. Just look how long the problem already exists.

I've sent the requested information by mail.

It happens daily when there is an open position at forex rollover. After that all further orders are answered with "account unavailable". I'm currently on a demo account because of this long lasting issue. No, it's not getting better. And a daily restart is not an option for me.

Henry,
I've sent my logs numerous times to MB trading directly, still with
no resolution. This issue has been around since March.
It continues to happen to me on a daily basis on a demo account,
when I don't manually restart.
Sometimes I'll have open positions going into rollover, and the manual
restart is troublesome to say the least. I am a US citizen so I can't
switch to LMAX.

Another issue that has happened a few times to me for MBT, and its just happened again, is that the data feed just stops!

I see no errors in 'logs' tab in the 'order and position tracker'.

In quote manager the column 'Collect RT Data w/o Plotting' next to the symbol it says 'connecting'. Then in the event log of the quote manager the 2nd last line says 'Lost connection to History server.' and then the last line 'History connection is OK.'

Does it stop on a constant basis (each day )? If yes then does it happen around the same time each day?
Once this happens again please send me (support@multicharts.com) MultiCharts logs and a screenshot of your QuoteManager window so that I can see the problem symbol and event log messages.
In order to investigate the issue please provide additional information:
Please also specify the exact version and build number of MultiCharts you are running (in MultiCharts go to Help tab-> About).
What is the version of MBT application you are running ?

As for "Account temporarily unavailable" issue:
MBT continues to work towards a solution.
They have informed me that they begin to rollout a new updated version on the servers that should resolve the issue. This will be a slow process, so it will take some time. They have not provided any ETA. Once all servers are updated-we will test the connection and post an update in this thread.

Since last week this problem seems to be solved! I don't get "Account temporarily unavailable" any more.

However it is followed by a new issue. It seems that Multicharts loses the link to open orders, so the new error message in the log says "replace rejected: no such order". What about this? Someone else experiences this behaviour? As before, this happens only after forex rollover when there were open positions before.

MB Trading has resolved the Account temporarily unavailable/Account not loaded issue that appeared after the market rollover.

Thanks Henry. Unfortunately for MBT this issue took over 6 months to be resolved. In that time I withdrew all my all funds and moved broker and am now really happy with LMAX, especially their execution speed, so quiet possible a devil in disguise ;) If others did leave MBT over this I hope MBT see's this and choices to improve their response time on issues for the MC crowd.

The messages you have received are not actual errors or issues. No orders are lost. These are internal messages that do not interfere with auto trading. We will filter the messages in one of the next version of MultiCharts to avoid further confusion.
