Reducing database size process failure

Postby jl12 » 05 May 2012

As my 7.4 database size is 10 gig importing instruments directly into 8 3 64 caused problems.

Support told me to use the link

https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... abase_Size

to reduce database size and then copy the shrunken database over.

However this is failing with the attached error message.

Any suggestions as would be welcome.

Hello Jl12,

Are you starting MultiCharts 32 bit while the database files are moved from MC 32 bit databases folder?
Please make sure database files are present in:

%allusersprofile%\TS Support\MultiCharts (For Windows Vista or Windows 7)
%allusersprofile%\Application Data\TS Support\MultiCharts (for Windows XP )
You need to paste this line into Start->Run.

The database files were present

Open the unzipped folder.
Run the .bat file. Do not touch .exe file.
Note: Take into account that if you use a 32-bit version of MultiCharts then use "gbak_x32.bat". If you use a 64-bit version of MultiCharts then use "gbak_x64.bat".
It is extremely important to open MultiCharts installation folder and run DataUpdater.exe:
I ran the exe immediately after running the bat file is this correct

You will need to run the DataUpdater.exe only after the .bat file finishes the work and its window disappears.
If you still have the issue-please come to our live chat Monday-Friday 6:30 am - 4 pm EST.
We will do our best to help you.
