Change the number of shares or contracts in BackTester

Postby scuba » 01 Sep 2012

Hello Everyone!

I'm a very new user of MC.

One issue I can't seem to resolve in the Backtester is how to change the default number of contracts or shares to trade or how to get the program to use all my initial capital.

My Settings:
Exposure 100%
Max % of... 100%
Initial Portfolio Capital: $100,000

When I run a small portfolio of stocks it trades only one share of each stock (7 stocks in total)... Seems to be treating these as futures contracts.

If I increase the capital to $1million, I still get the same results.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hello,

Select in portfoliobacktester the strategy. then right mouse click. Select show properties and there you fill in for example the fixed shares, maximum shares etc. I think this is set to value 1 by default. There you can also fill in the commission which is very important for the end result.
