Esignal on demand

Postby Dan122 » 01 Oct 2012

I´m having problems to set up esignal on demand in MC. I found a patch - MC_IB_FREE in this forum but it gives me an error message:
Product: MultiCharts Discretionary Trader
Path:
ERROR: '' doesn't exists
When I try it.
The Quote Manager is able to connect to esignal data manager, but it grabs 3 or 4 prices and stops.
thanks
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

MC_IB_FREE is an updater for Interactive Brokers that should be applied to MultiCharts Discretionary Trader. You should not use it. It is for a different data feed and different MultiCharts.

Make sure you have eSignal data manager up and running (it should say OK for your login and password in eSignal data manager).
Then in Multicharts please go to File tab->Preferences->Data server mode
Make sure you are in online mode, "download missing historical data" is enabled.

Add the symbols from the data source.
In the Quote manager please go to Instrument tab->Add symbol->From data source-> eSignal.

Reload the chart using Ctrl+R.

Keep in mind that you can get historical data, realtime data, delayed realtime data, but not delayed historical data.

In fact it's not a good idea to MC with eSignal on demand and delayed data.
It just does not work on MC, it does not refresh correctly. ;)

You can only use eSignal on demand with historical data. Too bad :'(
