Compression of DOM Ladder at symbols with huge spreads

Postby SP » 19 Oct 2012

I inserted the new IB CFDs for the Dax (Symbol: IBDE30). As it trades with a spread on 50 or 100 minmoves (Ie. bid@ 7388,16 and ask@7388,66/7389,16), it is hard to see the bid and ask at the same time at the DOM, even if i set under "selct font" the size to 6 (the smallest size that is accepted as input).

Is there a way to compress the DOM so that the rows between bid and ask are not displayed? I could set the Price Scale from 1/100 to 1/10, but then i only get the rounded bid and ask.

Hello SP,

There is no way to compress/skip rows in the DOM. Changing the instrument price scale will not help in this case.

Please attach screenshots of Contract Details, Book Trader window, Portfolio tab and chart for this instrument from TWS.

You can also come to our live chat Monday-Friday 6:30 am - 10 am EST to provide the required information to our IB engineer.

Henry,

the IB DOM is even worse because it is frozen at yesterdays close and the IB Chart isnt plotting anything.

Nevertheless using the MC Chart Trader instead of the DOM works for me.

Hello SP,

There is no way to compress/skip rows in the DOM without losing some data. You can change the min movement instrument setting to compress the DOM. You can also apply Market Depth on Chart indicator to your chart to see level2 data.
