Detecting changes in functions

Postby Andrew MultiCharts » 07 Feb 2013

Dear MultiCharts .NET users,

Please review this feature request. We agree that the current implementation may cause some inconvenience:
  1. Let's say, you have indicator A and indicator B, which are using function C;
  2. When you adjust script of the function C and then compile it, the changes are not applied to indicator A and indicator B using this function;
  3. Each indicator should be recompiled manually in order to use the adjusted function.
The development team came to conclusion that the only possible solution would be a check box next to "Compile" button in PLE to enable/disable forced recompilation of all scripts applied on charts and market scanners in MultiCharts. This gives guarantee that an adjusted and compiled function will come into effect in on your graphs.
The consequence: all applied scripts will be turned off, recompiled and turned back on, what causes recalculation of signals and indicators (results may change) and turning off automated trading.
You are welcome to vote for this feature request and suggest any other solutions, so we can discuss them.
