These are from MD which also has this bar type.





So you basically will only have a new bar when prices reverse against previous high or low by X number of ticks. I believe MD and SC have also options to choose in terms of bar number, for instance, reverse only we see 3 bars against previous high/low bar.

This is definitely a great way to follow prices and when they truly reverse accordingly to your setup.
For example, you tend to have a powerful move of 16 ticks, prices reverse but they never are able to reverse more than 6 ticks before seeing new high able the previous 16 tick move.
You can very easily create strategies/studies around these bar types.
