Esignal: Can not add new symbols

Postby reitberg » 16 Nov 2006

I just got my Esignal feed for the first time today for the SIMEX Nikkei 225 contract. I am using Version 8.0 (Build 782). I am using MC version 1.90.468.865.

Esignal is running fine and I am seeing real time data within the Esignal application.

When I try to add a new symbol in MC, I open the quote manager, add the symbol from data source and I choose Esignal. I then select "Future" and type in "SI". MC times out and gives me the message: "Timeout Do you want to retry?"

I then went to the symbol menu>>>Data Sources>>>Esignal>>>Connections and it appears as if Esignal is Offline for Real-time Tick Server, History/Tick, Etc.

What should I do to fix this issue?
Thanks

This is a known issue that occurs in case eSignal has been installed or updated with MultiCharts already present. The search function and eSignal settings may fail to be recognized.

To fix this please close eSignal and MultiCharts, save the attached file to the desktop, unpack and run it. After it modifies the settings, lookup etc. should be enabled.

Thank you, Alex. The data feed now works.
