Some settings parameters need explanation please

Postby 2haerim » 02 Sep 2007

When I click the Settings button, not the Settings menu, it shows two tabs: Financial and Display.

I already pointed out the problem of regional currency for point value in the previous post.

Now, I see several things that need explanation their usages and examples how to use them.

From Financial tab:
1) No. of standard deviations
2) Minimal acceptable rate of return
3) Degree of risk aversion of the investor

From Display tab:
1) Smoothing
2) Split trade with partial exits into several trades according to the number of exits

You can find explanations of these fields in the strategy report. If you click Settings in the left pane, you will get a list of settings in the main window. When you click one of those parameters a definition is shown in the smaller box below.

Smoothing has to do with the visual representation of the Equity curve. You can try the two settings and you will see the difference.

As for split trade with partial exits into several trades according to the number of exits, here is what it does: for example you enter a position with 10 contracts but then exit not with 10 contracts at once, but with, say 2, 3, 5, 2 contracts. By checking this field you can have them shown as separate trades.
