ASIAN INDICES PROBLEMS eSIGNAL DATAFEED

Postby dahmen walter » 20 Oct 2007

A few asian indices result in no data messages while displayed in eSignal and downloadable with QCollector, examples for no data are:

- $019.X-SES Singapore Straits Time Index
- $000002-SHG Shanghai A-Share Index
while $000001-SHG, $000003-SHG, $000004-SHG etc do work properly
- $TW50-TAI and $TAIEX-TAI

in all cases connectionc in quote manager are online(able) and STOCKS on the respective exchanges SES, SHG asd TAI are represented correctly and QCollector can collect the data

Any ideas?

One day later $000002-SHG is available - all others mentioned still missing. Three hours later $TW50-TAI has become available while $TAIEX-TAI still gets no data - eSignal allways showing all mentioned instruments.

Another 3 hours later the same effect for australian indices $XAO-ASX (All Ordinaries) works fine $XGD-ASX (S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Gold Index) works not.

IN ALL CASES QuoteManager event log reports (here for $XGD.ASX) advice $XGD-ASX (Success). ALLWAYS in QuoteManager there is success for advicing the symbol but MC reports NO DATA.

For $XGD-ASX and $TW50-TAI multiple deletions and readding of the symbol made the symbol available to MC in other cases this did not help.

Now with the following method:
1 Delete the symbol
2 Re-Add the symbol
3 go to the newly added symbol and connect the symbol
4 use the connected symbol in MC

all symbols are working as expected - hope this will help in the future as well.

Hello Marina,

this behaviour did not occur a second time for the symbols mentioned. I am content now that the data for these symbols are available as they should.

Unfortunately $NZ50G.X-NZX now is making the problems. While on eSignal and QCollector Data are available. In contrast $NZ50C.X-NZX works.

The observation was on a weekend but eSignals servers should not discard request from MC on weekends for a few selected symbols. Another question is why these asian indices sometimes require a Ctrl+R to show the latest day although MC was started with checkmark on requesting missing data.

Best regards

Walter

Hello Marina,

after uninstall of version 2.1.976.1109 and installation of 2.1.999.999 the problem no longer exists. Strange kind of a bug.

Kind regards and thanks for your support.

Best regards

Walter
