Hello dupl,

The error above means that the connection to the historical data server failed. There might be two reasons:

1. The connection was lost. In this case closing and restarting TWS could help
2. Firewall blocked the access

In TWS in the Market Data Connections window please check which of the connections is off.

Hello,

I forgott, it happend as MC received realtime data, so I could see the realtime ticks in my chart (connection to TWS was ok). But had this error messages in QM...

Now after a restart of Windows it looks ok.

The error was about the failed connection to the historical data server. This means that you couldn't receive history data for one of you symbols. It didn't affect your real-time data. There are different connections for historical and real time data.

If you go to TWS and click "Market Data" in the bottom right part of the window. Market Data Connections window will be called up. One of the connections in the list there will be red.

Has connection to the historical data server, but the error Code= 165 still occur.

Why do I get this error:
[11/11/2007 22:47:56] No security definition has been found: Symbol= ZG FEB 07;Ask;ECBOT;FUT;USD;

I don't have a Chart with ZG FEB 07, and in QM I dont receive realtime data for this symbol. But this symbol exists in the database and has some days with mintues data...

But why do I get this errors and still Code= 165? Please look at the screenshot.
Thanks

Hi dupl,

Please do the following:

1) ZG FEB 07. This symbol is no longer existant. And must be disconnected. To disconnect the symbol, please right-click it in QuoteManager and click Disconnect Symbol.

2) The last message with the code 165 is not an error. You can disregard it.

Best regards.

Yes I did this but it does not stop the message, than I found it in a chart if I delete it it was ok. But how can the message be stoped in QuoteManager if you have an expired symbol in a chart?

I think a problem too, I have VXZ7 future in QM realtime status and in a chart. But no realtime data comes in the chart only data until yesterday! I also did a restart of MC no success. And if did a ctrl+R, or changed to TickBar than in the chart says NO DATA.

What is this?
Thanks

If you try to plot an expired symbol in the online mode (in File -> Preferences -> Data Server Mode -> Online) QuoteManager will try to connect to the data feed and you will be getting the message. But since you have the data for this expired symbol in the database you can just plot it in the offline mode (File -> Preferences -> Data Server Mode -> Offline).

What resolution did you use for the symbol?

Also, regarding VXZ7:

1.What TWS version do you use?
2.If it's TWS 878 you will need to update the dll http://forum.tssupport.com/viewtopic.php?t=4480
3.What resolution and over what period did you plot?
4. Did you try reloading the chart?

Regards.
