Historical tick data handling question

Postby johnson scott » 28 Nov 2007

Hi,
I use IQFeed for real-time data. My question: Is there a limit to how much tick data MC will accumulate on my computer in the database? Is there a setting in Quote Manager (or elsewhere) for this? I would like to accumulate as much data as I can, for backtesting purposes, and want to make sure there is not some user setting I am overlooking that will limit me.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

MultiCharts stores all the data that you receive from your data provider in its database. The size of the database is 4 GB. It can be expanded if necessary. But 4GB is a lot for storing data on symbols and so far we haven't received any requests to expand it.

Regards.
