Settings for the Portfolio Backtester

Postby Phonix88 » 27 Sep 2013

Hi to all!
This tourn I have sone questions about the portfolio backtester.
Opening it I'm expected to find the possibility to choose many essentials settings like the IOG, the bars magnifier, the slippage or more simply, the trade costs. Where I can set all this?
At the first times I have hypothesized that the portfolio backtester somehow could "grab" the settings from MC.NET, but this can't be because I have tried to put only one strategy on only one instrument on the portfolio backtester, but the report between MC.NET and the portfolio backtester are strongly differnt. But this settings must exist somewhere: isn't possible make a Backtest without consider for example the trade costs!

Can any one enlighten my mind about all this?

I have found the answers:
For the commissions 'click right in the "Portfolio Tree" on "Strategy 1" and than "show propertys" and than you see under "propertys" commission and slippage.'

For the IOG and the Bar Magnifier, they aren't avaible on the portolio Backtester.

Thanks for reporting your findings here. I've already voted for it - hope other people do the same. :)

Me too! Without this function the portfolio backtester can't be used for advanced signals :(
