MULTICHARTS .NET 8.8 BETA 2

Postby admin » 18 Oct 2013

MultiCharts .NET 8.8 Beta 2 is mainly a bug fixing version with one new feature – ability to fill in data gaps automatically (without a manual reload) after a disconnect. Also, Playback behavior was slightly corrected. Read below for more!

Thanks for again another valuable update (and quickly). It's also nice to see that MC .NET versions are released on the same day with regular MC.

Can you say something about the 'autofill of data gaps after a disconnect'-feature? How does this work with an automated strategy, and can we track 'something' in the code to ensure that the strategy doesn't go "insane" when the new data is loaded?

Is this a 30 day trial or can i use it to update my starter edition ?
Been waiting awhile now for a fix on the starter edition, I cannot use it with the memory leak issue.

thanks

Hello,

It happens that I leave my computer running over the weekend, but what I have noticed with my CQG connection is that MC do not connect or respond to the markets when they open again on Sunday. Meaning I get no quotes. Things are working fine before the market close on Fridays, but it never starts again after Sunday open.

Is it supposed to behave like this, or is it a bug?

I have experienced this with previous versions also, but thought I could post a notice on this regarding the latest MC .NET 8.8 beta 2. CQG API is the latest 5.00.104.

Thanks,
Laurentius

Hello again,

Compared to tick charts, could someone please explain to me what "change" charts is?

Thanks,
Laurentius

Hello Laurentius,

Please send me (support@multicharts.com) the following information for analysis of this case:
1) What is your system time zone?
2) in QuoteManager select the symbols you are using, make a right click on it->Export data->Export instrument ( only settings ). Send me the Qmd export file for analysis;
3) attach workspaces you are using;
4) Go to Format->Instrument->Settings tab->check what Session is selected for the chart.
If it is set to "Default" then go to the next step.
If a custom session template is used go to MultiCharts->File->New->QuoteManager window->Tools->Session templates-> open the settings of the selected session template and make a screenshot of it. Send me this screenshot;
5) Do you have workspaces open 24/7?
6) When do you usually close your workspaces?
7) Does the problem only appear when session starts on Sunday?

Thanks a lot for both your replies Henry.

Regarding your MC/CQG connection reply I'll do as described.

Just for the record I run my workspaces 24/7, and it is only when running over the weekend that quotes does not restart on Sundays. When running during daily session close and new open the quotes/connection is working and restarts fine.

Laurentius, please send me the requested information so that we can try to replicate this behavior on our end.
