large trace file. Is it needed.

Postby bowlesj3 » 19 Dec 2013

After formatting my C drive, I am returning files in prep for installing MC. I noticed a very large trace file (tsServerTrace) being brought back in that is being created from MC. Although I plan on upgrading to the latest MC, at the moment, I am not on the latest MC so things are running really well. I am thinking this trace file (or any debugging files) are not really need. Can I shut these off?

Thanks,
John

Hello John,

You can delete all files/folders from %userprofile%\AppData\Local\TS Support\MultiCharts

Thanks Andrew,

I will do that and also put your note in my recovery documents so I don't have to ask again.

Hello John,

You can't when MC is runing !

do you know how many cpu times / cycles are used to make these files ?

a global flag to enable/disable log would be a good idea ;)

(for exemple my ssd is full up with LMAXserver.log with the same message 'lose connection' ...)

only one line error code is nedded ....

That is expected that some of the log files cannot be deleted while MultiCharts is running as they are being used by the processes.
bowlesj3 asked a backup/restore question. So he does not delete the files while MC is running.

What is the full file name and path to this file?
