I am finding that the connection between MC 8.8 and the GQG api (non AMP) is so unstable that I'd recommend nobody use it until all the issues can be worked out. It has worked intermittently days at a time but when it goes down, it can be damaging to any business. What's worse is that there is so much conflicting information on the topic.
Running Windows 8
1) can someone who knows, explain the exact and proper sequence for installing MC and the api? 2) does cqg trader need to also be installed (but not opened) for it to work properly?
I am willing to re install everything from scratch IF I know it will work properly.
3) what are the potential communication gaps between MC and cqg? Firewalls etc?
I can go into all the specifics of the problems I've had in another post but first there needs to be exact instructions on installation, firewall/virus protections etc...
I can assure you that my cqg configuration is correct because I have been able to trade on cqg trader and at times through the MC Api.
