Support for Broker synthetic orders? Patsystems, TT et al.

Postby wilkinsw » 18 Jun 2014

Hi,

Many brokers provide server side synthetic order management. Can this be exploited through MC?

For example, in MC you can convert to market if not filled after X seconds. In effect that would be a MC managed synthetic order.

However, designing MC synthetic orders has limitations with regards to latency, unless you're running MC from an exchange colocated server.

Therefore, I was wondering if one can better exploit the broker's low latency architecture (e.g. TT) by submitting more types of synthetic orders that are managed by the broker (not MC). I know it is already possible to submit broker supported OCOs for some brokers. It would be nice to exploit a greater range of broker synthetic orders too.

For example......

-Patsystems Ghost orders

-TT's "if touched" orders.

Assuming that this isn't already supported by MC: Could this be something that MC could look at as it would be a key differentiator between a retail platform and a professional one.

Any thoughts??? You support OCO order submission where brokers support such orders. Do you support any other broker side synthetic orders. Would you consider adding more??

Hello wilkinsw,

At the moment broker side synthetic orders are not supported in MultiCharts.
This is not something that is in our to-do list at the moment.
You may want to submit a feature request to the Project Management of our web site so other users can vote for it: https://www.multicharts.com/pm/
