Point Charts plot different

Postby miltonc4 » 27 Jan 2008

Hi All
Has there been some changes made to the way Point Charts plot
Latest version 3.0 plots same data, same compression, same settings differently to Ver 2.1

Differences can be seen in the attachments
Also, same indicators plot differently as well

More noticeable in smaller compression Point charts.
Havent looked at (Point (original) charts,as I don’t use these)

Anyone else noticed this difference ??

Thanks
Milton

The meaning of Point has changed

Postby 2haerim » 28 Jan 2008

In 3.0, 1 Point represents 1 Min. Move multiplied by price scale.

For example, if a symbol has 5 and 1/100 as Min. Move and Price Scale,
then 1 Point means 0.05.

I hope I am right.

Hi Milton,

In MC 2.1 point bars weren't plotted correctly because MinMovement was not factored in. So to plot a 2-point bar you'd have to enter the MinMovement value multiplied by 2.

In MC 3.0 this bug was fixed. Now if you want to plot 2 point bar, just enter 2 - MinMovement gets factored in automatically.

Regards.
