swing trading - always Alive MC and IB gateway/TWS

want to use for swing trading that holds pos for weeks/months
can Multicharts stay alive always with IB gateway?
if disconnected, how well, MC can sync with acct positions with IB ?
how does the sync works with MC

As long as IB gateway is connected - MultiCharts can be connected to it.
