MultiCharts for TWS is the regular MultiCharts version except for the following differences:
  • Only uses IB data and trading capabilities,
  • No QuoteManager,
  • No Portfolio Backtester/trader.
I also thought there was a limitation with the available chart types and time frames, but cannot find a reference for that now. Perhaps someone else can clarify that.

Hello tubular2000,

MultiCharts and MultiCharts for TWS are two separate products.
MultiCharts can be called the full version.
MultiCharts for TWS is a white label version created for "Interactive brokers" data provider/broker exclusively.
"Interactive brokers" data provider/broker is fully supported in the full version of MultiCharts.
This feed/broker is not exclusive for MultiCharts for TWS.

MultiCharts for TWS does not have volume (tick, second) based resolutions and features such as Volume Profile, Volume Delta, Cumulative Delta at the moment. It also has no QuoteManager for better integration with TWS, so no continuous user created custom futures instruments and no custom session templates. Portfolio Backtester/Trader is also not available in Multicharts for TWS.
But Multicharts for TWS has better integration with IB TWS - that is possible to link the TWS window with MC charts and DOM. So once you click on an instrument in TWS window - the instrument automatically appears in your MC chart or DOM without you adding it manually and selecting in the chart/DOM.
