Does it mean I will only get half of the volume because Down tick is not counted?Volume
Returns the volume of the current bar.
For tick and volume-based charts, and time-based charts with resolutions of 24 hours or less:
- the volume traded on Up ticks will be returned if Build Volume On is set to Trade Volume
Pls help me to understand Volume

ok, I got it. I gave it a test, and confirmed that the keyword Volume has nothing to do with layman's understanding of "true" and "total" volume.
For true total "Volume", I need to add the Up Tick and Down Tick together.
or simply use the Ticks keyword, which when "Build Volume On" is set to "Trade Volume", it shows the total "volume' of the bar.
For true total "Volume", I need to add the Up Tick and Down Tick together.
or simply use the Ticks keyword, which when "Build Volume On" is set to "Trade Volume", it shows the total "volume' of the bar.

Hi TJ,
It is confusing and I think it is time to get rid of "build volume on".
I proposed a new, modern idea for MC to distance itself from antiquated TS thinking here:

I do not know if anyone at TSSupport programming dept. read it or took it seriously, but I think it is a viable approach to "volume".
Sincerely,
Bob Perry
