Obtaining the Heiken Ashi Bar Direction in an Indicator

Does anyone know how to access the bar direction (up/down) painting of the Heiken Ashi Bars in a Indicator.

Obviously, using the calculated HA Bar Close and HA Bar Open values, it is close to the HA Bar Open < HA Bar Close for up bars, and HA Bar Open > HA Bar Close for down bars, on a chart loaded with Heiken Ashi bars, but that method is not exact 100% of the time.

Like is there system variable that is accessible to simply pick up the direction of MultiCharts' calculated Heiken Ashi bar direction?

There is no system variable that works as you're describing. It has to be a custom solution.
What is the issue with comparing Bar Open and Bar Close values?
