With the release of MC 10.0, using the 64 bit version of MultiCharts, the MultiCharts64.exe process will remain active in the Task Manager after shutdown of the main MultiCharts application. Further, if MultiCharts is ever restarted after that, multiple MultiCharts64.exe processes will remain active in the Task Manager. A screenshot attached shows three separate MultiCharts64.exe processes still active in the Task Manager, after the MultiCharts app was initiated and shutdown three times. The three initializations of MultiCharts occurred over the span of approximately five hours, with the application being shutdown for a minimum of one hour between initializations.Sometimes you need to restart MultiCharts. If a user closes MultiCharts and restarts it too quickly, some of MultiCharts processes may have no time for a correct shutdown. After MultiCharts and all of its applications (i.e. MC, QuoteManager, PL editor, ...) are closed, it is recommended to make sure that all processes are ended in the Windows Task Manager:
ATCenterServer.exe
Fixserver.exe
MultiCharts.exe
MultiCharts64.exe
MCportfolio.exe
MessageCenter.exe
PLEditor.exe
PLEditor.NET.exe
QuoteManager.exe
SEFUtility.exe
StudyServer.exe
StudyServer.NET.exe
TradingServer.exe
TSServer.exe
Updater.exe
Is this a new and expected behavior of the MultiCharts64.exe process, and are we to ignore the instructions contained in the Help File concerning making sure that all processes have been successfully terminated before restarting MultiCharts? Or is this a bug that needs to be fixed? If a bug, are we to manually terminate the MultiCharts.exe process before a new instance of MultiCharts is initiated, as a workaround until the bug is fixed?
Thank you for responding to our questions. Much appreciated!
