ASCII Mapping - Painfully Slow

Postby bryanzim » 15 Jun 2017

In order to try to speed up ASCII mapping, I reduced the mapped files to a single interval file of 5 minutes for a symbol. I have a 37MB file which when loaded into a chart of 5 minute interval takes about 30-40 seconds on a SSD drive(>550MB/s read speed).

If I now change the chart interval from 5 minutes to 1 hour, I give up after 5 minutes waiting for a chart to be drawn. Same with other intervals.

What does Multicharts suggest in order to be able to view data from txt files since this is obviously non viable?

This is easily reproducible and goes along with the other issues which were produced via remote control. Any timeline for a response?

bryanzim,

Please try selecting "Get symbol from: File name" and setting "Symbol" column to "undefined" to improve the speed.

As I said here: viewtopic.php?t=50704#p126191 , this improvement is in our to-do list, but there's no ETA yet.
