Let's say I have a strategy auto trading that uses an exit rule based on the BarsSinceEntry keyword. It opens a trade. If something happens and MC has to be rebooted I will leave the trade open and then use the Assign Initial Market Position option when I restart the terminal. I can tell MC at what price the open order was executed but I don't think I can tell it when. This means keywords like BarsSinceEntry won't work for this trade as the entry bar will be incorrect. Currently is there a way to tell MC when the trade was opened (date/time/bar)?
If not I think this would be a good feature to add for a future release.
I have written a signal that regularly saves my position to a file and if there is a reboot my signals get the position data to continue managing the trade. But it's quite difficult to implement this with BarsSinceEntry exits due to the different bar types. Would be so much easier if we could tell the strategy where the entry was.
Thanks.
Parker

Re: Assign Initial Market Position - BarsSinceEntry
Hello, Parker,
Unfortunately such feature is currently unavailable and implementing it is not in our road map right now.
