Indicator Calculation Between Sessions; i.e.: when data series is null

Postby dataheck » 04 Dec 2019

I created a indicator that uses two dataseries and shared it here: viewtopic.php?t=52340

If you load GLD into data #1 and COMEX gold futures into data #2, you'll see that the indicator keeps its prior value throughout GLD's afterhours period. However; my indicator in this instance for the particular parameters I have set in it relies only on data #2 which trades during that period; it should be possible for it to continue plotting after-hours.

Any idea how I can accomplish that?

e: I can accomplish it if I base the indicator off the instrument that trades more often, however, then I have a scaling issue. I have to manually set user defined scaling for my less-traded instrument and the indicator so that they match, which is more annoying than the missing data when the less-traded instrument is not trading. If you touch the chart to pan/zoom, the scaling is changed for the instrument but not the indicator, so you'll be constantly mislead.
