Hello everyone!

Many thanks to Henry and his team for the hard work going into this build. We are very excited to be part of this community and will be available for assistance both on this forum and on our usual channels.

For anyone looking to get started using Saxo as broker or data feed, the MultiCharts team has provided helpful instructions on the Wiki, and we published a full step-by-step setup guide on our help portal.

That is a huge news for us European MC users ! Brokerage choice for CFDs was very limited. Thanks a lot for making it possible trading with Saxo.

I read that historical datas are available with 1mn resolution over 20 years. Great, but does that mean we won't be able to use tick based charts for backtesting ?

Hi,

Correct, we support our entire CFD line-up (indices, futures, and single-stocks) on MultiCharts, on top of 180+ FX pairs.

Regarding historical data: lowest resolution we are currently able to provide is 1 minute. Depending on the instrument, minute data goes back 20 years or more (some FX crosses go back further).

Mydesign, for the Saxo Group connection, tick bars are built by MultiCharts out of 1-minute data (2 to 4 ticks per bar), volume = 0.

So when will the same sort of support be afforded to IG Markets? On PM there is as much if not more interest for IG Markets.

janus, this may happen after IG offers any non-MT4 API. Previously they were expecting it some time in 2020.

Hi Henry. They already have two APIs, REST trading and streaming based. Please see https://labs.ig.com/
I've already written a crude REST based order interface using Python and a DLL stub almost a year ago. I'm sure your programmers can quickly develop complete IG Markets integration for MC.

I had a quick look at SAXO's SaxoOpenAPI solution to interface trading platforms. It is a REST API on the HTTP protocol with streaming support very similar to the way that IG Markets does it.

I agree with Janus,

IG markets is the #1 in the world for CFD, IG markets is 180 000 customers in
the world (and growing) and IG have offices all around the world. (Australia, UK, Germany, France, Spain, USA, Italia, Sweden, Luxembourg, Portugal, Suisse, ect , etc ....)

A lot of customer need this improvement. as we can see on https://www.multicharts.com/pm/public/m ... ues/MC-517

In summary, IG markets is important, this would be a big improvement and it will attract a lot of IG customers to Multicharts !!!

IG markets connection will be beneficial to Multicharts
