Standarize symbol data

Postby gklqp201 » 16 Oct 2020

Hello,

I have a strategy to enter a Forex market at the open of the London session

Me, being at NZST, London opens:
Auckland, New Zealand Mon, 17 Feb 2020 at 21:00 NZDT
Auckland, New Zealand Mon, 30 Mar 2020 at 20:00 NZDT
Auckland, New Zealand Mon, 6 Apr 2020 at 19:00 NZST
and so on, as daylight savings times change in NZT and BST...

For backtesting, I need all market data set in a way, that the London opening is at the same time for the whole data series, let say 21:00 NZT

How can this be done?

Thanks

Use London exchange time
Thanks TJ,

Please see screenshot.
I changed the time zone for the instrument in Quotemanager (used Yangon as a test), but no timestamps change in the chart

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, or this is not where the change must be made?

Hello,

It is not necessary to use NZD time zone and its changes from summer time to winter time. If you use Forex, you need to know its opening time (London time zone).

• 21:00 NZDT corresponds to 9:00 BST
• Create an Exchange
• Set time zone = London (BST)
• Set the sessions of this exchange. You can take them from the website of your exchange. Also check the opening and closing time of the London exchange.
For example:
( 9:00 (BST) = 21:00(NZDT) set opening time = 9:00 (because the London Exchange is selected))

Mon 9:00 - Mon 23:00
Tue 9:00 - Tue 23:00
...
Fri 9:00 - Fri 23:00

That’s it. If you change time in the chart settings to Local/Exchange, only the time on the bars will change. It will correspond either to NZDT (local time) or to BST (exchange time). The bar will stay the same.
