Hello MC,
please, can you explain the exact meaning of Time Zone selection in Quote Manager->"Edit Exchange & ECN". Is this field supposed to override the default Exchange Timezone used in the data from the specific provider? How are the data from External Providers received: Do they always contain exchange-local + timezone / or GMT time? I am struggling to understand whether this selection is actually moving the data to the "new" timezone or whether they are just overriding the timezone in the data received.
Also what is meaning of "Exchange/Local" timezone in "Download Historical Data"? Is it converting the data to the local PC timezone (for Local)? ...or what is the difference?
Many Thanks!

Re: Edit Exchange - Time Zone
Hello jval,
The timezone selected in Quote Manager->"Edit Exchange & ECN" should be the same as the real timezone of the exchange.
In MultiCharts the timezone of the exchange is used to filter the incoming data. If an incorrect time zone is selected, some data can be missing on the chart due to the timezone shift.
At the moment only local time zone is available for "Download Historical Data" option. We plan to introduce an improvement for this in the future release versions of MultiCharts.

Hi Vlada,
If "Symbol Dictionary Sessions" is used in QuoteManager, and custom session (shorter time range than Symbol Dictionary Sessions) is used in Chart Window, will the data that is not within the Symbol Dictionary Sessions time range be abandoned by the download? Or the data is still downloaded and is just not displayed on the chart?
Thanks,
McGeorge

Re: Edit Exchange - Time Zone
Hi McGeorge,
Session settings work differently, not like time zone settings.
Historical data is not received if it is not included in the range selected in the sessions settings.
Real-time data sessions limit only the data being displayed on the chart.
