ASCII Mapping - Setting a Description

Postby petermcphee » 30 Sep 2021

Hello,

Is there a way to set the description for ASCII mapped securities?

It seems that the fields mapped are set as "date, open, high, low, close, volume" only. I wonder if I can insert a new field for the securities description and map that?

Thanks!

Peter.

Hello Peter,

There is no option to set the Description for symbols in ASCII Data Import window.
All the available fields are displayed in the drop-down list when you click on any column header in ASCII Data Import (see the screenshot below).

You can edit the Description after the symbols are mapped in Quote Manager > right-click on the symbol > Edit Symbol.
