import ascii data - cannot set minute resolution

Postby ts2mc » 06 Jul 2009

when imorting ascii data, i can see all fields from .csv accurately
displayed in preview table of quote manager.
but i can't set the minute time resoultion (grey, insensitive).
in may case, always 1 minute, where data in fact have 15 min bars.

i did it like this:
- create symbol manually (select own symbol name)
- right click -> import ascii data

(the file mapping allows to set minute resolution but works not here. MC reports file mapped, but symbol has no data.
in addition, other than ascii import, you need each time to
reselect source directory what is not very useful if you need to import many files)

can anyone help ?

Hi ts2mc,

MultiCharts creates bars using the following base resolutions: 1 tick, 1 minute, 1 day. Therefore, you can only import data as 1 tick, 1 minute, or 1 day. Simply go ahead and import your data with 1 minute selected for the resolution. When you later plot a 1-minute chart in MC, these bars will be 15 min apart.
