Charting issue

Postby tcat » 07 Aug 2009

Hello,

I have noticed a scaling issue while having twice the same symbol with the same indicator in two windows(same workspace). There seems to be an issue in the second window, the indicator does not seem to overlay correctly on the data. Both indicators are configured to scale "same as symbol".

Running Version 5.5 Beta 3 (Build 2592).

step 1. right click on the chart,

select "Visual Order..."

make sure the symbol is sent all the way to the back.

step 2. right click on the vertical price scale,

a window will pop up with a list of chart objects.

make sure the symbol is selected.[/b]

Well, thanks for the advice...but it didn't solve the issue. I also check other parameters, such as usage of margins, expanding scale to indicators and controling the scaling type, but all parameters are set equally.

I've enclosed a partial snapshot which reflects the issue.

Actually, if I check the expand scale to indicator on the second window with the same data set, it does not seem to proceed so. The indicator goes beyond the scaling for the data set, which could be the cause of the issue.

Hello Andrew,
I was about to send you the details when I figured out what the issue was.

I based my trailing indicator on the first data source. Although the two data sources where identical, this caused a problem when I moved the indicator in the second frame, as the indicator was still aligning itself on the first data source.
By basing the indicator on the second data feed, the scaling issue disappeared.

Thanks to you for the follow-up and to TJ for the help.
