Scaling issue

Postby ctrlbrk » 18 Feb 2010

Hi, just getting started with MC6b2, coming from NT.

Having an issue which seems really simple, yet I can't figure it out.

I have two dataseries, panel 1 is a 5 minute, panel 2 (hidden) is a 15 minute of the same instrument.

I want an EMA of the second dataseries (15m) to be overlaid on top of panel 1 (first dataseries).

Seems simple, but it isn't working. I've made a quick video:
hxxp://screencast.com/t/OGI4YTQ1Y2Y

As you can see, the EMA value is 76.92, yet it is overlaid up around 77.40 on the chart. I've tried every scaling option I could find. If I set it to movement size, 1 inch = 1 point, it comes close but that is just pure chance, it isn't a fix.

Help! :)

this is a 3 step process:

1.

go to Format Study (right click on indicator or chart)

under Scaling tab

select Same as Instrument

2.

right click on chart

select Visual Order...

make sure the instrument(s) are at the bottom of the list.

3.

right click on the price scale

make sure the instrument is selected

you have to put both data series in the same subchart.

you can make the 2nd data series invisible.

Format Instrument > Style > Invisible Bars
