Out of memory

Postby StratMan » 27 May 2010

A MultiCharts message indicates that there is not enough memory while there is still almost 2 MB of free memory on my PC.
Why such a message ??

Hello StratMan,

No matter how much RAM your PC has, MultiCharts can only use 2 GB because it is a 32-bit application. Please go to your Task Manager and check the memory usage of the Multicharts.exe process.

Thank you

Hello Anastassia,
The size is displayed as only 1 736 692 K. ..
and how to reduce the number of bars while the error window will not shut off and as it is open, it is impossible to intervene on the chart?

The only way to reduce the number of bars in this situation is to close everything down, open MultiCharts again and change the number of bars immediately after reopening. In MC 6.0 we have changed the way MultiCharts alerts you when you are about to run out of memory. Now instead of error window one will hear an alert.

Thank you

Thank you very much for this clarification.
For information, the problem happens on MC6 beta 3 (Build 3276)...

So you get the error message appearing in 6.0 Beta 3? Could you please post a screenshot of the error message.

Thank you in advance

I confirm that the error appeared on MC 6.0 Beta 3
I did not screenshot, but would do next time ...
Without modifying the chart, the same process MultiCharts.exe fell to 647 280 K
Everything suggests that MC had a problem of congestion.
I had this problem 2 or 3 times during the past few months, so I will provide screenshots next time.
