TradingServer.exe CPU

Postby promagma » 04 Aug 2011

I have a single-core machine and sometimes TradingServer.exe goes crazy and takes all available CPU. I have MB Trading and about 12 charts open.

One thing I tried was "Disconnect MB Trading" on the trade bar, but it didn't help.

We can't say anything with certainty until we see screenshots/video and logs of the platform. Please archive them next time problem reproduces and attach them here or send them to support@multicharts.com

I opened multicharts, and the CPU was running around 10%, like normal. I right clicked on the trading bar and selected "Connect to MB Trading" and that caused TradingServer.exe and multicharts.exe to use a lot of CPU. I let it run for about 10 minutes, then took this screenshot. If I wait longer, 20-30 minutes, sometimes it calms down.

I am using 64 bit MC with 8GB ram on the machine.

Yesterday tradingserver.exe got up to over 7.5GB ram, today it's over 4GB. I am not running a large number of charts/data or indicators.

please advise, this does not seem to be normal behaviour. If I shut down/restart MC then all is normal again.

I do not want to have to re-start MC as that would mean resetting all strategies.

HELP
it is doing it again today.. I'll try to get on live chat if possible, but this is really ugly - I am up to 7.9GB RAM. Don't want to turn MC off because automation is in motion.

Hello Waveslider,

Do you have a scanner window on one of your workspaces?
What exact version and build of MultiCharts are you running?
