Merge 2 stockdata to 1 stockdata

Hello!
If there a way to merge 2 different stockdata to one stockdata?
for example:
earlier: SOLR
later: GTAT
(same stock, but they have change the name...)

now I have the problem: I can't backtest this. I can merge both datas to one chart (for example 2005-2009: SOLR
2010-2011: GTAT)
but than I have 2 different data (data1 and data2).
Is there a way to merge data in QM? I have search a feature to edit historical data, but I can't copy from old to new...)

I have download historical data in another programm and than import these data in the new stock...

This is the only way to merge historical data for different symbols. You can merge historical data for one symbol with real-time for another one using Merge feature in Format Instrument menu. However, merging historical data for different symbols is possible only through importing data into one symbol.
