Can I run Portfolio Backtester and the MultiCharts.exe at the the same time? When I do, I get this message:
"Close all chart and QuoteManager windows and try to set Data server mode again"
This happens when I hit backtest.

That means that you are changing the data server mode.
In order to switch it from Offline to Online and backwards you need to close the Quote manager and all open charts. You need to have the same data mode in both MultiCharts and Portfolio Backtester selected.
