Spread symbol for Zen Fire

Postby TimB » 30 Nov 2011

Does MC support exchange traded spread on Zen Fire.
The symbol is tradeable on R:Trader , it is Brent-WTI spread on ICE Europe.

Thanks

Hi Tim,

Unfortunately, you are not able to plot a spread instrument in MultiCharts because Zen Fire does not provide data for these instruments through their API.
As a workaround you can create an indicator Custom Line 1 with the input close of data1 – close of data2 in order to create a spread of two instruments that are plotted on one and the same chart.

You should be able to plot the spread with
the built-in indicator called Spread-Diff.

Thanks for reply.

I did try that,
I asked this questions because SC could plot this spread from Zen Fire feed and so I think the MCDT could do that too .

But in technical details, it could be different between two platforms on how data is being recorded and plot.

The benefit is to trade from MCDT if it could plot the spread symbol.

If it is a tradeable symbol, you should be able to add it through QuoteManager.
