Is it possible to use custom futures in DOM?

Postby NiC72 » 16 Jan 2012

I did a try and it didnt work. If you use custom futures and must have the current futures in the DOM, you have to be prepared to make an exact replacement. So it is not useful.

Hello NiC72.
Custom futures symbol is a synthetic symbol created in MC using individual futures contracts data: combining history from expired contracts with real-time for the current one.

DOM data is not available for Custom futures since this is an artificial symbol created on MC end.

Moreover, using a custom futures symbol in the DOM window does not make sense since DOM displays only real-time data and you can always use current contract symbol to trade in DOM.

Hey Henry!
Thank you clarified the problem. Of a previous datafeeder I had an instrument that automatically changes every month for a new futures. So I thought it was the same.
But now that you have explained, it sounds logical.
