Open E Cry

Postby Miky » 22 Feb 2012

Hello,

I am a complete beginner in Multicharts so I have the same problem. I try to download data from Open E Cry, Nasdaq Exchange. When I set the symbol NQH2 in QuoteManager, graph showed mi data only to 7/2/2012. I really don´t know, how to get more historical data (for example NQM1, NQU1, NQZ1). Very thank for answer.

Hello Miky,

OEC provides limited amount of historical data:
Tick-by-tick up to 7 days, intra-day up to 14 days, daily up to several years back.
What resolution are you using?

I´m using daily up resolution. Before MultiCharts I have used SC and there I could download all data which I want from OEC.

In Multicharts please go to File tab->Preferences->Data server mode
Make sure you are in online mode and "download missing historical data" is enabled
Then go to Format->Instrument->Settings tab.
Make sure that you have specified the correct data range.
If the chart is still missing data-reload it using Ctrl+R.

I tried it according to your instructions but data still displays me only to 9th February 2012. I really don´t know, how to receive historical data. I have all setting correct - I think. Maybe the problem is in provider - is it possible? But thank you for you effort.

In Quote Manager please make a right click on NQH2 symbol->Edit symbol.
The expiration date should be 3/16/2012.
If the expiration date is different-please add the symbol from the data source.
In Quote manager go to Instrument tab->Add symbol->From data source-> OEC.
Then try to plot the chart for this symbol.
