Drawing tools: Keep selected and display accross subcharts

Description

When selecting the timeline in the drawing tools 2 features would be appreciable:
1) When selecting a tool such as the timeline, it would be useful to keep the tool selected in order to create several items without the need to re-select the timeline.
2) The ability to have the timeline tool span across subcharts would be very useful as well.

Steps to reproduce this issue

1) Click on one of the drawing tool and keep selected until re-cllicked.
2) Either add a new timeline function which span across subcharts, or richt click on an existing and add a "span across subcharts" or both (ideal).
