Description

The Indicators:
Mov Ave 2 Lines
Mov Ave 3 LInes

Do not plot correctly.

To Create the bug (for this purpose example is for Mov Ave 2 Lines)
- Add Mov Ave 1 Line - Length = 8
-Add Mov Ave 1 Line - Length = 20
Style:
Both solid lines but different colors and a heavier weight - screen scaling

  • Add Mov Ave 2 Lines - FastLength = 8, SlowLength=20
    Style:
Different colors but make the line dotted and put on same chart as above two - screen scaling

The results of the Mov Ave 2 Lines should plot exactly on top of the individual Mov Ave 1 Line, but ONLY the fastlength line plots correctly, the slowLength line is very off.

I am trying to create indicators and signals using multiple moving averages and because the underlying moving average does not work for more than 1 moving average of any kind,I cant get valid results. I did this test using moving average weighted and moving average exponential and TRIX - and they don't work in multiples either. So, what is wrong on the underlying calculations/logic? I am a programmer and I can enter the correction if you all have one or if you can create that correction.

Steps to reproduce this issue

To Create the bug (for this purpose example is for Mov Ave 2 Lines)

Set the value on the Scaling tab to 'Screen'

If you set the Scaling value to 'Same as Instrument' yes it works.

It does NOT work when you set the Scaling value to 'Screen'

Since I never have my moving averages set to 'Same As Instrument' it's giving bad results.

Yes, this is expected behavior for the Scaling you select: https://www.multicharts.com/trading-software/index.php/Indicator_Scaling
