Description

MC uses 'End-of-period" timing to timestamp bars (when storing and displaying data).

However, when I imported previously exported data (dowloaded from IB) and checked 'Use End of Bar time", the imported data have become shifted by 1 min.

When I deleted it and re-imported without checking "Use End of Bar time", they imported correctly, as they had been previously, before export.

Why is that?

Steps to reproduce this issue

1) Dowload Ask and Bid data from IB (without "use IB server timestamps").
2) Export Ask to a *.txt or Ascii file
3) Delete data and close QM
3) Import these data and check "Use end of bar times"
4) display Ask and bid and see that new Ask is shifted by 1min.

It is expected to work this way. You enable the option to use bar end time and it works accordingly. This feature was designed for data files from sources, where the minute start is used as the bar time, but not the minute end. This option should only be used, when necessary and not enabled on a regular basis. It can be even visually seen how the time changes when you enable/disable it.

It is very ...interesting...to have a feature which is not fool-proof, is not self-explanatory and behaves differently in different context.

As is, it literally means "treat the imported time as 'end of bar' time".
It does not mean "this will change your imported time to +1min" (and therefore you should use it IF....)

To avoid confusion, it will be better to change wording e.g. to "Convert to 'end of bar' time" or "Source time is bar start time".
