Description
I tried importing stock symbols for the Toronto Stock Exchange using Interactive Brokers and it does not work. I had no heading line. I chose the Smart exchange. It comes back and says zero symbols have been imported. I tried it a few times.
Steps to reproduce this issue

I might have solved this (see the maybe below). I found the problem. I had the import category spelt wrong. I changed it from "STOCK" to "Stocks" and it worked. I tried it on both the regular MC and on MC.net and it worked in both. Maybe a descriptive error message would help reduce false reporting of bugs.

MAYBE:
My concern at this point is the import does not ask for currency the way the NT import does. If it is a duplicate symbol letter how will it know it I want only Canadian Currency? I also have this concern because of the other issue I am having which is reported as "MC-2275 Only 1 in 14 stocks display due to CAD/USD clash".

You need to create the correct file for import. There is no Stock category in MultiCharts, it should be Stocks. There is a sample in the article on our Wiki section: https://www.multicharts.com/trading-software/index.php/Import_Symbol_List

Also, for IB symbol description should begin with instrument currency.

Thanks for your help Andrew. I got the import to work on the regular MC. Later I will probably try it on the MC.net. I dumped the symbols out of MS-Access to MS-excel then saved the excel file as a tab separated txt file ready for import. I say it works because MC is correctly displaying the charts when I use these imported symbols. I also deleted all SMART exchange and TSE exchange symbols before I did this import as you suggested. I tested one or two imports before I did the whole lot.

I have one suggestion which would be helpful for both support and the users. The import process should have a drop downs much like NT has. Drop downs for currency, exchange and category with only the symbol and description/company-name coming in on the file. This way the users would almost always get it correct. If the resources are not there for programming it then the Wiki should mention the CAD up front in the description. I use to know how to update the wiki. I was trying to figure it out yesterday and I can't see it.
