Description

In a tick chart of one symbol, playback resolution setting to Tick by Tick fails and popup error message depending on the end date of chart.
That means random failure in setting Tick by Tick resolution.
I attached a screen recording and test tick data file.

Steps to reproduce this issue
  1. create symbol "test", select Data Source to ASCII Mapping.
  2. import the attached tick data file to the symbol
  3. make a 60 tick chart of the symbol, set data range from: 2015-08-13 To: 2015-08-13
  4. jump to the first bar from Playback menu
  5. change resolution from As is to Tick by Tick

error message will popup,
replay is done with As is resolution, not Tick by Tick resolution, even if resolution field shows Tick by Tick

  1. stop replay and change data range To: 2015-08-17
  2. jump to the first bar from Playback menu
  3. change resolution from As is to Tick by Tick

this time no error message will popup,
replay is done with Tick by Tick resolution

My specific use of MC.Net may be needed.

I create symbol manually selecting ASCII Mapping as data source. (so, it is not actual ASCII Mapping symbol which should be created in File-->Map Ascii)

Then, I Import Data --> ASCII, and select the text file which I have prepared.

"Collect RT Data w/o Plotting" is always "Off"

In this state, I create chart for the symbol and apply indicators and signals.
Recently, I apply them while the chart is in Playback.
That's why I am reporting many issues on Playback.

This is the specifics of playback detailed data collection process. To have it working correctly, there should be data for more than one session available on the chart.

What do you mean by "session"?
Do you mean that
2015-08-13 ~ 2015-08-13: it has no session, so it does not playback tick by tick.?
2015-08-13 ~ 2015-08-17: it has session, so it does playback tick by tick?

To have it working with tick by tick precision, it is necessary to have more than 1 session for intraday charts (a session is defined by the session breaks on the chart) and 2 daily bars to have it working for daily bars.
