Description

Hi.

The drop handler in MultiCharts could be made to recognize shell links (shortcut files) that are drag-dropped onto MultiCharts, recover the link's target-file name, and load the file if it is a WSP.

What is the use scenario? Currently, to add a workspace one does File/Open, then searches for the WSP in a possibly large directory. The new method would allow one to have a small favorites directory with links to WSPs, that are stored in a larger, harder-to-navigate directory. One could load the WSP by dragging a link onto the open MultiCharts.

I would find this change handy and a timesaver.

Thanks и спасибо большое.

That is possible to drag workspace icons to MultiCharts window and they will be opened. If necessary, it can be done with several files at the same time.

Thank you for the reply, Alex.

Workspace files can be drag-dropped, and that's a wonderful feature.

Shortcuts (a.k.a. shell links) to WSP files, however, currently can't be dropped. But that's an easy change...an addition to the drop handler that currently catches WSP files.

Shortcut files have extension LNK. One would use library functions to extract the target path from the link file. If it's of extension WSP, then open. I don't know the specifics of .NET shell-link functions, but believe they exist and are straightforward.
