Description

A relatively simple request......please provide the ability to do freehand drawings. I would be happy with lines to start, but it seems others would also be useful. At present, I find I can only do lines locked to/ending at points, or extending all the way across the chart. Seems there should be some middle ground also, which would be freehand drawing of lines and other shapes. Thanks.

TrendFirst, please make sure you have “Snap Mode” disabled under the View tab / on the drawings toolbar before placing the drawing.

Hi Alex

Thanks for your reply. "Calculation Type" is Freestyle and "Anchor to Bars" is not checked. When I attempt to draw a freestyle line, the endpoints still "grab" onto something. In the Instrument window it locks into random points and does not follow my cursor. In an indicator window, such as RSI, it to locks on to the 80/20 extreme high/low level lines.

So it's' not really freehand drawing, and does not achieve what I would like to do.

TrendFirst, I believe there is some misunderstanding. You have mentioned two options that were not specified in my reply. Please disable the “Snap Mode” option as suggested above.

Hi Alex

Thanks, you are correct and apologies for littering the Issues board with this. The reason I posted this here is when I first chatted with support on this issue, I was told that I could not do freehand drawings. Hence the request. After you mentioned the "Snap Mode", which I looked for and could not find in the Format Trendline dialog, I chatted with support again. We located the Snap Mode and turned it off, and now freehand drawings work.
