Description

Latest versions of Windows Server support headless installations which has most graphical user interfaces (GUI) taken out. Microsoft recommends to install a Windows Server this way since it highly limits the attack surface (better security) and requires fewer processes to run (better performance). The server can be managed by connecting a GUI remotely or by using the command prompt (PowerShell).

A headless installation of MultiCharts PortfolioTrader will be extremely beneficial for live trading as it enables deploying on headless servers. The regular desktop experience can be achieved when connecting a regular PortfolioTrader GUI to the remote installation. This will also make managing live PortfolioTraders easier.
