Description

I have a multi monitor setup and multiple workspaces, and I have one detached Order and Position Tracker (OPT) in a workspace, that provides me with a 'global overview' from what happens in all workspaces combined.

What annoys me is that when I click this detached OPT window (for example, to scroll a few lines down), MultiCharts automatically switches to the workspace that contains the OPT, even though it's detached. This then hides the other workspaces, so each time I click on the OPT window, I have to navigate back to the workspace with charts I was originally following.

Since a detached window 'hovers' above the workspace (i.e. is a kind of meta window) it should, in my opinion, not force its own workspace on the user (it's detached from its own workspace after all).

It would be great to provide an option in the Window menu something like 'Don't automatically switch to another workspace when selecting a detached window'.

Steps to reproduce this issue

To reproduce:
1. Create a new workspace with a window in it.
2. Detach this window and drag it to another monitor.
3. Now switch to another workspace and then click on the detached window; MultiCharts will now switch back to the newly create workspace showing you the empty workspace in the main MultiCharts window, and thus needlessly hide the other workspaces.
4. Repeat this multiple times during market hours to get the complete experience. :)

Yes, an option. I was just about to create a request to be able to link the "Order and Position Tracker" to the charts in a workspace so that I could quickly go back and find symbols that I had positions in and review their charts (the scanner is not a good place to go back and review the charts of my open positions). Maybe the way is to satisfy JoshM's request is to not link the "Order and Position Tracker" to anything but the workspace it was created in. Of course you would want to link the scanner to a workspace and the chart windows in that workspace. Something that just occurred to me is each workspace should have a colour designated to it such that if you select green for workspace1 and detach the scanner or the order and position tracker it should have charts set to green in that workspace. Any other workspaces should use a different colour to link their charts to they do not get effected by that detached window from a different workspace. It sounds lick JoshM wants a higher level of detachment. In this case maybe just having no selected colour in that window should indicate that it is not to pull any charts from any workspace to the front.
