When getting many lines, especially with larger weight, on a chart it would have been nice to have instrument in front so one can accurately see it

Could you please make a check box option in drawing tools "Format Setup" to add drawing tool in background as default?
Thanks,
Laurentius

Unfortunately after detailed analisys we found out that due to MultiCharts architecture and current way of realization drawings and charts, the implementation of this feature requires a lot of time and efforts. At the moment the feature is postponed.

Hello Andrew,
Do you have a clue to when this would be implemented? Like MC 9.0? I would be happy if it was not too far into the future.

A suggestion. Why not just make all drawing tools staying in the background/being transparent just as it is already with the Vertical line, Rectangle, and Ellipse tools?
Off course that would mean that drawing tools would always be in the back, but that's very okay with me.
Thanks, Laurentius

After MC added Volume Delta charts I think the ability to put drawings in the background has become even more important. For illustration I have added a picture which illustrates how drawings in front affect the visibility of volume numbers.

What about the "Chart on foreground" option like MetaTrader 4 has? Would this be a solution or easier way to implement this feature? Regardless of the visual order, prices stays in front of everything else.

I forgot to mention that it becomes meaningless with thick lines when it is not possible to have them behind the instrument. Thick lines just hide price. To have proper drawing tools for discretionary trading it is important to have the option to put drawing tools in the background.

If you implement the MT4 "Chart on foreground" option, this would solve another issue bye the way. How MultiCharts works now is if you want an indicator like MA behind price, for the sake of having price in front, and continue drawing with this setup, the analysis is going to be linked to the indicator itself. If you remove or replace the indicator, the entire analysis will disappear. By implementing this feature the instrument can be Base Data 1, but still show on top of everything else. In this way everything can be as they are, you just have the option to have the instrument in the foreground.
